We are frequently asked how the home prices in Cape Coral/Fort Myers compare to other areas in southern Florida. This area is still one of the best values around! We'll let the numbers speak for themselves. Here's a comparison of two nearly identical luxury waterfront homes: one in Boca Raton, the other in Cape Coral.

Both Lee County (Cape Coral/Fort Myers) and Palm Beach County (Boca Raton) have full employment. Lee County's unemployment rate is 2.1 and Palm Beach County's rate is 3.3. Additionally, Cape Coral is ranked as the 3rd safest city in Florida. The 2004 Crime Comparison Index ranks cities with populations of 100,000 or more. Miami and Fort Lauderdale are ranked 14th and 12th, respectively.

Cape Coral Redevelopment
The Cape's downtown redevelopment agency is making good progress in attracting developers for retail, residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects that are in keeping with the City's long-range vision of the downtown area. The Terraces at Rosa Vista and Piazza di Venizia are just two examples of projects making headway.
