City of Naples

Naples is the crown jewel of Southwest Florida -- nestled on the sun drenched beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Naples is known for world class shopping, dining and abundant, challenging golf courses. The median price of a house sold in the Naples area in May was $287,000, the highest in the state, according to the Florida Association of Realtors. The Olde Naples area of established older neighborhoods with older residents surrounds the fashionable downtown Fifth Avenue South shopping and dining areas and Third Street South's stylish boutiques and "gallery row."

This can be contrasted with the younger, professional crowd populating North Naples, near the Lee County border. The influx of younger, upscale families has given rise to new shopping and design centers, like the Granada Shoppes shopping center at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Immokalee Roads.

The demographics of the area prompted companies like The Home Depot to open its first Expo Design Center in Southwest Florida in the Granada Shoppes, a glitzy, decorator version of The Home Depot. Trendy national chain restaurants like P.F. Chang's also located its first Southwest Florida eatery there.
